What will you be selling at the Summer Saturdays event? I will be selling crocheted items I made from repurposed yarn, including earrings, keychains, hats and more!

What inspired you or drew you to that line of work? Over the pandemic I picked up crocheting as a time filling hobby and fell in love with the fiber arts!

What do you like to do for fun? I enjoy outdoor activities, and reading. I'm also big into craft activities, and woodworking.

What's something surprising/interesting about you? I've worked aboard in South Korea teaching English.

How would you spend your perfect day in Detroit? I'd probably spend a day on Belle Isle or in one of the museums, and finish with a meal at one of Detroit's numerous restaurants.

Where's your favorite place to travel? I have loved all the places I've traveled but enjoy the Upper Peninsula for backpacking/camping.

What else do you do outside of working at City Bird and Nest? I'm an artist and hand weaver. My business will be mainly focused on sustainable and earth-friendly hand woven home goods as well as furniture, so I've been spending time working on getting some of the designs put together for a larger launch of products in the new year.

What will you be selling at the Summer Saturdays event? On the 27th I'll be selling some wood jewelry that was a side passion project; I wanted to set some sustainable and eco-friendly parameters and see what I could come up with. The wood comes from off cuts from furniture I've built, and I've hand stained it in a natural Indigo Vat, and sealed the product with an all natural shellac.

What inspired you or drew you to that line of work? I love working with wood as a part of my art practice, and wanted to find a way to reuse these small pieces, while testing out using natural dyes as stains.

What's your favorite product of yours that you've made? My favorite product I've made are some Rep Woven placemats and a table runner, which I will be selling in the new year through my business, 5FT Fiber & Design.
