Returns and Exchanges

We hope you love everything you purchase at our shops or on this website! If necessary, however, returns are happily accepted within 30 days of purchase for exchange or store credit. Please note that returned merchandise must be unworn/unwashed/unused in any way and in original packaging. Gift Certificates, as well as all sale, seasonal, and perishable items are final sale.

In-Store Purchases:

If you wish to return something purchased in one of our physical shops, the return must be made in person, with a receipt. Store credit from in-store returns may be used in-store at City Bird or Nest. Please email customerservice@citybirddetroit.com with any questions. If you bought an item in our physical store, it can be returned for exchange or store credit within 30 days of the purchase. Please refer to your receipt for more information on the full return policy for physical store returns or exchanges.

Online Purchases:

If you’d like to make a return or exchange for a website purchase, you will need to request a return authorization from us before sending back your items. Please email us at customerservice@citybirddetroit.com with a description of the nature of the return and your order number. Shipping is non-refundable. We are only responsible for the cost of shipping on returns and exchanges for incorrect shipment.

Online order returns or exchanges cannot be accepted at any of our physical store locations. After returns are approved, they may be shipped to the following address:

Holiday Returns and Exchanges

To accommodate holiday gift-giving during the extended holiday season, exchanges and returns for regular-priced items purchased between November 25, 2016 and December 24, 2016 will be accepted through January 24, 2017.

We value your trust. Any information we collect from you during your visit to this site is for the sole purpose of processing your order and will not be sold, exchanged, or otherwise disclosed to anyone, for any reason. We employ industry-accepted standards in protecting your personal information during its transmission during a purchases made on this site, which is hosted by industry-leader Shopify. This site utilize SSL technology to protect your sensitive information during its transmission.

Shipping

Domestic Shipping

For all domestic orders under $100, we offer flat-rate shipping for $7.95. Additionally, we are happy to offer free shipping on domestic orders of $100 and more. Orders eligible for free shipping must total $100 or more after discounts and promo codes are applied to qualify for free shipping. Shipments are sent via the best available option, either USPS or UPS, based on weight and distance, and will take 2-7 business days, depending on location.

Order Confirmation and Tracking

Once your order has been shipped you will receive an order confirmation email with tracking information, if applicable.

Expedited Shipping

For an extra fee, expedited shipping, including overnight shipping, may be possible, on a case-by-case basis. We will do our best to accommodate any request. After your order is placed, just email us at customerservice@citybirddetroit.com. Be sure to include your order number in your message.

International Shipping

Currently, our international shipping is limited to residents of Canada. For residents of Canada, we are happy to offer flat-rate shipping of $15 for all orders under $150, and free standard international shipping to Canada for all orders of $150 or more. All orders will ship via the USPS. International customers are responsible for any import taxes or customs fees accrued, and City Bird is not liable for any delays caused by customs or the international shipping process. While not guaranteed, shipping time to customers in Canada is generally 6-10 business days.

Shipping FAQs

How long will it take to process my order?
Orders are typically processed and shipped within 1-3 business days. Please note that during increases in order volume, or during the holiday season, order turnaround times might increase.  
How can I check my order status?
Once your order has been shipped, you will receive an email with order information and a tracking number, if applicable.
What happens to lost or stolen packages?
We are not responsible for circumstances outside of our control, including lost or stolen packages, or shipments delayed by the carrier or customs.
I entered the wrong shipping address when I placed my order, what can you do? If your your order has not yet shipped, we will do everything we can to help ensure that your order is shipped to the correct address. Please send any notes or amendments to customerservice@citybirddetroit.com as soon as you can. We are unable to resend items or remit refunds for orders shipped incorrectly due to incorrect order information.
Can I Combine Multiple Orders?
Once an order has been placed, we are unable to combine it with another order. If you have placed multiple orders, they will be shipped separately.
Is it possible to ship to an address other than my billing address?
We’d be happy to ship and bill to separate addresses, just enter different addresses in the appropriate fields at checkout. However, you must provide a valid billing address and phone number that correspond to the credit card used for the order, for verification purposes.
Can I change my order after it has been placed?
If your your order has not yet shipped, we will do everything we can to modify your order as requested. Please send any notes or amendments to customerservice@citybirddetroit.com as soon as possible. Once an order has been shipped, it is not possible to make a change.
Are my ordered items in stock?
Barring a technical issue, If you are able to buy an item online, it is in stock. If we encounter an issue when fulfilling your order, we’ll be in touch with you, so please make sure you have supplied us with valid contact information.
