For Indigo & Kind, creating textiles is an intimate process. Founder Teji Lingam was born and raised in India, where she fell in love with textiles and design. She traveled the country extensively, learning about the art of hand block printing, and she’s brought all of that knowledge and inspiration with her to Ann Arbor, where she’s currently based. Their silk and cotton scarves are designed in Michigan, and then hand dyed, printed, and stitched in Jaipur, India by local craftspeople paid a fair wage, using nontoxic dyes. Colors may vary slightly due to the handmade nature in which they are created.
